What to Expect


Psychotherapy is an exploration of the Self. It allows you to peel back the layers and better understand how you relate to yourself and others and the influence that has in how you move through the world. Working with me, we will explore your current day challenges, heal old wounds and trace the self-destructive patterns and behaviours that have emerged over time so that you may replace them with more empowered and purposeful behaviours and beliefs that actually support you in moving towards the life you've always dreamed about for yourself.

Therapy is client-led and client-centered, so I will always meet you where you're at, keeping your goals in mind. For some, talk therapy is what's needed, I'm trained in Spiritual Psychotherapy and Spiritual Direction and consider you holistically. I consider all of you in our work together; mind, body, spirit and often use the chakras, meditation, body psychotherapy and other energy healing modalities in our sessions if that's where the work takes us.


There are a number of ways to heal - talk therapy isn't the answer for everyone. I've found working with the chakras is an amazing and powerful roadmap to healing and better understanding yourself. Yoga and meditation have been invaluable sources of relief for myself and others from depression and anxiety amongst other life challenges. You will find I'm very open to meeting you where you're at and staying attuned to your specific needs and wants.

Your first session is an intake session, where I ask you a number of questions that span all avenues of your life. This way I get a snapshot into your world and gain context and background, which helps with the work moving forward. The intake allows you to widen the lens and look at the entire picture. We often get zoned in on one aspect of our life, when often more than one aspect is worth looking at. We’ll talk about why you have decided to pursue therapy and what your goals are for our time together. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know me, to ask me any questions you may have, and to see how you feel with me. At the end of the session, we can decide together if it feels right to move forward in scheduling another session and beginning the rest of the therapeutic journey.
