What to Expect at Your Appointment at Ebb + Flow Wellness:

Your assessment will begin with an extensive review of your health history, lifestyle, current concerns, and your goals. The physiotherapist might then assess your body and how it looks when it’s resting and when it’s moving. Your physiotherapist will take a holistic look at various parts of your body to make sure that all possible causes of your symptoms are considered. This can include a thorough look at your posture and how your breath is working. Depending on your reason for seeking physiotherapy treatment, you may also consent to have your physiotherapist perform an internal pelvic assessment to determine your pelvic muscle function and soft tissue tension.

Robyn has taken specialized courses that qualify her to perform internal pelvic physiotherapy.  Pelvic physiotherapy involves an in depth assessment which can sometimes involve using internal and external manual techniques.   This allows the physiotherapist to determine the function of the pelvic floor muscles, core, pelvis and the associated connective tissue and nerves.  They will also assess the muscles, joints, and soft tissues of your low back, hips, sacroiliac joints, and pelvis.  Internal and external assessment and treatment will only be performed with your consent, when you and your physiotherapist agree that it is appropriate.
